Coco Grove: Where the Sun Shines and the Waves Crash (But We Didn't) - Typhoon Edition

After a lunch that stretched into the late afternoon (and probably involved a full meal, let's be honest), we decided to embark on what we affectionately dubbed an "ocular tour" of the Coco Grove Resort. Now, I'm not talking about a rigorous, map-in-hand exploration. This was more of a "ooh, look at that!" and "wow, that's pretty!" kind of tour, punctuated by frequent stops for photos and the occasional "I need a nap" moment.

The resort, in all its tropical glory, was a feast for the eyes. Lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and the ever-present gloomy sky (thanks to the ongoing typhoon) created a scene straight out of a moody travel brochure. The amenities were impressive, too. There was a pool that looked like it was designed for Instagram influencers (though I'm not sure I could have even reached the bottom), a spa that promised to melt away all your worries (but I was too busy worrying about my sunburn), and a gym that I briefly considered entering (but then I remembered I hadn't worked out in years).

But the real highlight was the beach access. It was like stepping into a postcard, with soft white sand, swaying palm trees, and the sound of waves crashing against the shore. We settled in for a few hours, braving the wind and enjoying the view. We ordered refreshments, which arrived in typical beer bottles (because let's face it, sometimes you just need a cold one on the beach).

Now, the waves were a bit of a sight to behold. They were crashing with such force that it looked like they were trying to swallow the entire beach. We, being the sensible sunshine girls that we are, decided it was best to admire them from a safe distance. No, we didn't risk our lives for a quick dip. We learned early on that our swimming skills were best reserved for the pool, where the only danger was the occasional rogue rubber ducky.

Overall, our stay at Coco Grove was a blissful escape. We relaxed, we recharged, and we indulged in all the tropical delights the resort had to offer. We even managed to avoid a few close calls with rogue waves. And while I'm not sure I'd recommend the "ocular tour" method for exploring a resort, it definitely worked for us. Coco Grove, you've got our hearts (and our sunscreen). We'll be back!
