The Cebuano's are known to be deeply religious people. The majority of its population are Roman Catholic and there are also some followers of Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and among others. If you are going to Cebu you might notice the different churches built within the city. One of which is Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, located along P. Zamora St., Cebu City, is just less than or the most is 5 minutes walk away from Basilica Minore del Santo Nino. It is the ecclesiastical seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Cebu. The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the oldest and notable churches in the city, is the seat of the Archdiocese of Cebu. The architecture of the church is typical of Spanish colonial churches in the country, namely, squat and with thick walls to withstand typhoons and other natural calamities. The facade features a trefoil-shaped pediment, which is decorated with carved relieves of floral motifs, an IHS inscription and a pair of gr

When you're in Cebu City, One should not miss this haven for barbecue lovers, the original AA BBQ. My first taste of Cebuano dishes happened in AA BBQ and I could say that although most of their dishes were grilled meat or seafood, the flavor of it is very distinct Cebuano.  The BBQ store was introduce to me by Patty who frequently visits Cebu because of her Job. From our hotel in I.T Park we rode a cab to get there.  AA BBQ is a popular place so you’ll never get lost. You will surely not miss the restaurant because the smell of grilled food will literally take you there. The place is not really fancy but seeing a lot of people eating in the restaurant will assured you that you’re in the right place.  When you’re going to dine in AA BBQ the first thing you need to do is to get a tray so you could put the variety of raw food that you choose in their counter. Once you get the food that you wanted, pay it over at the end of the line and then look for a table. A waiter will th

I ♥ Taboan Market @ Cebu City 11/07/11

Another food that is synonymous to Cebu is Danggit. The Cebu Danggit is perfect when sun dried before frying. The dried danggit is one of Cebu’s most popular pasalubong aside from the otap, rosquillos and dried mangoes. And one can  get the best Danggit in Cebu but in Tabo-an Market.   The Taboan Market in Cebu City is famous for its many stalls selling different varieties of dried fish and dried sea products. A walk through the market is an adventure for the smell senses.  The smell of the place is appalling because of the hills and crates of dried fish and dried seafood. Merchants wrapped danggit in a tightly sealed plastic to prevent the smell to stink. Expect that you will also smell like dried fish, so make sure you bring spare clothes.  But this experience will not prevent the Filipino and other tourist to buy this delectable products of Cebu. How do we get there. 1. From our hotel we just picked up a cab and ask him to go to Taboan Market. We paid 100

I ♥ Basdaku Beach, Moalboal Cebu 11/06/12

Moalboal, a three hours drive from Cebu City is a gateway to some of the best diving spots in Cebu. Moalboal, or "Mowlbowl" as I'd like to call it, is a municipality about 89 kilometers from Cebu City. It's on the southwestern tip of Cebu situated between the towns of Badian and Alcantara. Moalboal is the go-to place for divers from all over the world. It has two main beaches, Panagsama Beach (Basdiot) and White Beach (Basdako). Home to around 28,00 inhabitants, this provincial town is a well known tourist and diving paradise due to its unspoiled fine white sand beaches and diverse marine life. Divers and snorkelers will enjoy the rich and colorful underwater life of its numerous dive sites. You can rent a cottage for a day for a mere P150. There is grilled food and beverages along the public beach as well. There are a lot of restaurants and kitchenettes in the area, but prepare to shell out at least P100.00 per meal. Though there are a lot of
