I ❤️ South Korea - Trick Eye Museum - 04/22/2014
This is an unforgettable experience. The Trick Eye Museum, tucked away in a surprisingly quiet corner near Hongik University, was a delightful discovery. A short five-minute stroll from exit 9 of Hongik University station led us to this hidden gem. We arrived on a quiet morning, and to our delight, had the entire museum practically to ourselves!
What immediately captivated me wasn't even inside the museum, but the intriguing installation outside. A man, seemingly suspended in mid-air, with half his lower body dangling from the ceiling, greeted us. As a traveler, the sight sparked instant curiosity. What was the story behind this? How was it even possible? It was a perfect teaser for the wonders within.
This was my first experience with this kind of interactive art installation, and it blew me away. It's so different from the traditional, static art displays I'm used to. The Trick Eye Museum completely redefined what a museum could be—fun, engaging, and interactive. It's a far cry from those stuffy, old-fashioned art galleries.
The museum itself is a photographer's dream. Every corner is a meticulously crafted thematic scene, begging to be captured on camera. We spent a good chunk of our morning taking photos and videos, creating memories that will last a lifetime. And the best part? They even offered oil painting portraits! What a unique and wonderful souvenir to bring home.
The museum is clearly designed with kids in mind. The whimsical scenes and interactive elements would undoubtedly delight children of all ages. But even as an adult, I found myself completely charmed by the clever illusions and the way the museum played tricks on my eyes. It was a constant reminder that appearances can be deceiving, and that sometimes, the most fun is found in the unexpected.
Would I go back? Maybe. While the experience was undeniably enjoyable, the magic of that first visit, with the museum almost entirely to ourselves, is something hard to replicate. But I would definitely recommend the Trick Eye Museum to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. It's a fantastic way to spend a morning, unleash your inner child, and capture some truly amazing photos.
