I ♥ Taboan Market @ Cebu City 11/07/11

Another food that is synonymous to Cebu is Danggit. The Cebu Danggit is perfect when sun dried before frying. The dried danggit is one of Cebu’s most popular pasalubong aside from the otap, rosquillos and dried mangoes. And one can  get the best Danggit in Cebu but in Tabo-an Market.

The Taboan Market in Cebu City is famous for its many stalls selling different varieties of dried fish and dried sea products. A walk through the market is an adventure for the smell senses.

The smell of the place is appalling because of the hills and crates of dried fish and dried seafood. Merchants wrapped danggit in a tightly sealed plastic to prevent the smell to stink. Expect that you will also smell like dried fish, so make sure you bring spare clothes.  But this experience will not prevent the Filipino and other tourist to buy this delectable products of Cebu.

How do we get there.

1. From our hotel we just picked up a cab and ask him to go to Taboan Market. We paid 100 pesos for the 20 min ride. Once you get there you'll definitely smell the disticntive scent of dried products. When we are done shopping for pasalubongs, we looked for a cab and he said that we really smell like dried fish.  It's really an awesome experience. A mus try in Cebu City.
