I ♥ Kinabuch's Bar Palawan 06/06/12

It’s our first night in Palawan and we don’t want to eat dinner in a fast food serve. We wanted to dine in a special restaurant so we can be a little bit touristy. One friend suggested to try dining in Kinabuchs Bar and Grill restaurant.

Kinabuchs is a highly recommended places to dine in Puerto Princesa. She read a lot of good reviews and it is a must try in Palawan. Its like going to Hard Rock Cafe which is a popular place for foreigners and locals.

 Kinabuchs Bar and Grill is
in 348 Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City. Our hotel is just in the area so we tried to walk but the place is too far so we've decided to ride a tricylcle instead.

It a clear June night skies, a gentle calming breeze, a wide- open space that didn't feel crowded even though it was full, and a wide screen projector welcome us.

There are a lot of foreigners and locals and we are so sure that we’ll definitely enjoy dining here.   It was really hard to look for a vacant seat outside because a lot of tables were reserved that night, fortunately we found a seat next to the bar and after seating there for a minute we really feel relaxed because of the ambiance.
There was no band playing that time but I always enjoyed eating outside. What I love the most is the service of their staff it is very efficient and fast it really seems that there is a system in place.
The menu is extensive, and the seafood (grilled or fried), pork items and the soups appear to be the favorites. They also serve Tamilok which is a mangrove mollusks that looks like a worm. It's a popular delicacy here in Palawan. I don't have the guts to try it because I don't want to ruin our trip with an upset stomach, so we just tried the uber famous Crocodile Sisig. Crocodile sisig is quite a challenging dish. It taste like longganisa but really good though.

We had Sinigang na Hipon and Mixed Shanghai Rice. Their dishes are good for 2-3 people and is very cheap. They really have big servings so don't get too excited when ordering. There is nothing special in the food maybe a bit bland. I think the area is good for friends to chat along and drink some beer. Kinabuchs is definitely worth a visit, preferably for dinner, to experience the atmosphere as well as the food while visiting Puerto Princesa.
