I ♥ Circon Business Inn - Palawan (2012) 06/06 to 09/12

Circon Business Inn Palawan

We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights at the Circon Businessman's Inn in the heart of Puerto Princesa, Palawan. At first, there was no triple sharing room available, and we were asked to stay in a separate building downstairs. The first room they offered downstairs had 1 queen size bed for the 3 of us.

I was puzzled if the receptionist thought we were going to do something inappropriate. How are we supposed to fit on a single bed? My friend irritably told the receptionist that we had a reservation for a triple sharing room in the first place. After 20 minutes of discussion and thanks to our "GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS," we were able to get a decent room in the main building. They gave us a twin sharing room with an extra bed on the second floor.

The rooms had towels, free wifi, a cold and hot shower, an old TV with cable, and spacious rooms that were clean. The cost was 800 pesos for a night. One thing I loved most about Circon Hotel was its location. It was just a walking distance to popular restaurants, shops, and markets/tiangges in the city. They had 24-hour security, and their staff were very polite. I felt secure sleeping and staying there.

The funny thing was that every time we needed to go out, we always had to talk to the receptionist, complain, inquire and ask a lot of things. It was like we were not getting the service we wanted, and they were not doing their job.

Actually, the hotel should be responsible for our itineraries in Palawan. They offered us a complete package for our City Tour, Underground River Tour, and Honda Bay Tour. Unfortunately, we still needed to go to the Underground River Office in Puerto Princesa to get a permit.

We decided to cancel the City tour and Underground River tour, and do-it-ourselves travel instead, and it was quite an adventure. The hotel served free breakfast, and their serving size was really small. It was like they were feeding a skinny model. The food was just ordinary Filipino Dish - fried egg, rice, and sausage.

The hotel facilities were great. They had a veranda, and the tables and chairs were very cozy. I really loved the ambiance and the simplicity of the decorations. I also felt secure in the hotel even though they were open 24 hours.

Although there were some mishaps during our stay, I would definitely recommend Circon Hotel to travelers who wanted a cheap place to stay without compromising their security and comfort.
