Boracay 2024 Travel Blog - Day 1: A Culinary Adventure
Boracay, you beautiful beach bum! Day one, and already my stomach is doing the happy dance. Forget the check-in woes at Hue Hotel (more on that later, maybe…), because let's be honest, the real adventure started the moment we smelled the sizzling goodness of Island Chicken Inasal Boracay.
This TikTok-famous joint at Station 1? Legit. The staff were so friendly, I half-expected them to offer me a free massage along with my chicken inasal. Okay, maybe not, but they were that charming. The menu was ridiculously affordable, which is always a plus when you're battling the Boracay prices. We opted for the classic chicken inasal (perfectly grilled, juicy, and flavorful – a 10/10!) and a bowl of kansi (sour beef soup). Now, I’m not usually a soup person, but this kansi was a revelation. It was like a warm hug from a Filipino grandma, all tangy and comforting. A perfect start to our Boracay food fest!
Dinner was a whole other ball game. D'Mall, the epicenter of Boracay's bustling nightlife, was our next target. We were on a mission: find the best Italian food this island had to offer. And lo and behold, we stumbled upon Aria Cucina Italiana. The name alone screamed "delicious," and the reality didn't disappoint.
We went all out. Two 18-inch pizzas, each with two different flavors – that's four pizza flavors in total! (Don't judge me, it was Boracay!) We also indulged in a putanesca (a spicy tomato-based pasta – my personal fave) and a carbonara (rich, creamy, and oh-so-satisfying). Let me tell you, this place is seriously on par with Gino's in BGC – high praise indeed! It was so good, we almost forgot we were in Boracay and not some fancy Italian restaurant back home.
But the night wasn't over yet! Our sweet tooth was calling, so we hit up the legendary Jonah's Fruit Shake. Their fruit shakes are legendary for a reason – thick, creamy, and bursting with fresh fruit flavor. But we weren't done with the savory just yet. A little BBQ to balance out the sweetness? Why not?
Day one in Boracay? A culinary masterpiece. A symphony of flavors, a rollercoaster of deliciousness. My taste buds are still singing! Bring on the rest of the trip!
