Boracay 2024: Day 1 - Arrival Despite Typhoon Warnings
 
The anticipated Boracay vacation commenced with an early morning alarm, a stark contrast to the relaxed atmosphere expected of a tropical getaway. Prior to departure, advisories regarding Typhoon Pepito, a potential threat to the region, generated a mixture of excitement and apprehension. The uncertainty surrounding the weather posed a significant question mark over the success of our planned trip.
 
Upon boarding the aircraft, a palpable tension was evident within the family. My mother voiced concerns regarding potential turbulence and emergency landings, while my younger brother attempted weather forecasting based on the visible cloud formations. In contrast, I prioritized rest, conserving my energy for the planned beach activities.
 
The flight, however, proved remarkably smooth. The pilot's skill, or perhaps a temporary abatement in the typhoon's intensity, resulted in a calm and uneventful journey. I awoke to the gentle rocking of the aircraft, only to discover that we had already landed.
 
Observing the view from the window, initial anxieties dissipated. The sun shone brightly, dispelling any lingering concerns about the typhoon's impact. The clear blue sky, with minimal cloud cover, offered a reassuring welcome to Boracay.
 
We arrived at Caticlan Airport a mere 45 minutes after takeoff. The warm, humid air provided a welcome change from the air-conditioned environment of the plane. Stepping onto the tarmac, a surge of excitement filled me; our Boracay adventure had begun.
 
The absence of the typhoon was a fortunate and unexpected development. It is possible that the island's allure, featuring pristine beaches, clear waters, and abundant recreational opportunities, contributed to the weather's unexpected calm. Regardless of the cause, the reprieve significantly enhanced our overall experience.
 
The day unfolded as an ideal start to our vacation. The radiant sunshine and clear skies set the stage for the anticipated beach activities, relaxation, and enjoyment of the island's amenities. The initial concerns regarding Typhoon Pepito proved unfounded, resulting in a tranquil and idyllic island escape.

Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Baguio Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Baguio was the first tourist spot I visited in this humble city. I went there last 2008 with my college friends and I really enjoyed our short stay there. There is no restriction in visiting the area. However, due to its gaining popularity they implemented policies that may annoy some first time travelers.  All visitors entering PMA must have individual valid IDs. A person without a valid ID can't enter PMA. If you're in a group and you don't have ID, you will be instructed to get off the jeepney at the gate and wait for your companions with IDs while they're enjoying the tour. Also, wearing slippers is a big no-no when you wanted to enter its premises. Even though you are wearing your expensive flip-flops the security personnel won't show any mercy and you may be force to await your companion at the gate. Pundaquit Beach Zambales Pundaquit, or Pandakit is in San Antonio Zambales, a small fishing village on an attractive bay with a long white sand beach. It is a small barrio next to a glorious South China Sea and surrounded by paramount mountains. It is home to many fishermen as several boats lined their beach. The sun was glaring as I tried to take in the striking surroundings. The beach was very clean, unlike some of Subic's beaches I visited before.   I was really confused if Cove and Island is the same but according to my research A cove is a small type of bay or coastal inlet. Coves usually have narrow, restricted entrances, are often circular or oval, and are often situated within a larger bay. So definitely, we are not going to ride a boat just to get there.  It took us four hour of bumpy ride to finally reach Subic Olongapo and another hour to get to San Antonio Zambales with just 2 hours of slow traffic and the difference is our total travel time.
