I ❤️ Pasig 2024 - Lumiere Residence - Day 2 - 09/22/2024

Day 2: Water Jet Massages, Chaka Girl Encounters, and Pineapple-Infused Adobo

Day two of our Pasig Staycation began with a symphony of chirping birds and the faint aroma of bacon. We, the Primus Besties, were up early, ready to conquer the day with the same gusto we had tackled the grocery store the day before.

Our morning started with a leisurely breakfast at the condo, a feast of sunny side up eggs, crispy bacon, and enough coffee to fuel a small army. We were fueled and ready to tackle the day's agenda, which, as it turned out, involved a healthy dose of medical checkups, spa treatments, and a chance encounter with not one, but two memorable individuals.

First stop: Market Market, where Ken, our resident hypochondriac, was scheduled for a checkup at Healthway. We piled into a Grab, our laughter echoing through the car, a testament to our unwavering support for Ken's (slightly exaggerated) medical concerns.

With Ken's health secured (at least for the time being), we were off to Ace Water Spa Pasig to meet up with Gracia and indulge in a well-deserved spa day. We were greeted by a confused receptionist, who seemed bewildered by our questions about whether we would buy or rent a swimming outfit. The scent of chlorine filled the air, a stark contrast to the calming aromas of essential oils we had imagined.

The spa experience was a blissful blur of different water jet massages, scented infused jacuzzi, and a healthy dose of laughter. We emerged from our pampering sessions feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and slightly dazed. We were like caterpillars transformed into beautiful, albeit slightly sleepy, butterflies.

Our spa day concluded with a much-needed merienda at Starbucks, where we encountered two distinct personalities: Ken's nemesis, a Chaka girl who looked at us from head to foot with a disdainful expression, and a charming, cute boy barista who greeted us with welcoming smiles as we ordered our coffee. It was a delightful contrast, a reminder that even in the most mundane of places, life can offer unexpected surprises.

As the sun began its descent, we hopped into a Grab and headed back to the condo, our hearts filled with the warmth of a successful day. We were ready to unwind, to cook a delicious meal, and to finally embrace the true meaning of a staycation.

Dinner was a culinary masterpiece: a symphony of flavors and textures, a testament to our collective culinary expertise. We whipped up a batch of adobo pork with a twist, infused with the tangy sweetness of pineapple chunks. It was a dish that would make any Filipino grandmother proud.

As we savored our meal, our laughter filled the condo, a testament to the bond we shared. We were tired, we were happy, and we were ready to face whatever tomorrow might bring.
