I ♥ Laiya Batangas 03/05/10

Image
It was a friends birthday celebration and I was invited to join her in Laiya Batangas. Laiya located in San Juan Batangas was divided in two barangays which is the Laiya-Aplaya and Laiya-Ibabao that both has a majestic coastline with several beach resorts to visit for swimming, diving, and other outdoor activities. I would say that Laiya Beach is a great place if your objective is a nice sandy beach and swimming in clean clear water. A nice place to bring the kids to enjoy the water.    However, there is no “night life” like there is in Galera. So don’t expect any resort-hoping scenarios. The night life was simply Do-it-Yourself gimmick where you make do with your own group. That isn’t a bad thing… just setting expectations. That said, Laiya is a great beach. And add to that the fact that it is a convenient short drive from Manila. It is very convenient. How do we get there. We rented 2 vans for the 15 of us. 1000pesos/pax food, transportation and

I ♥ Taboan Market @ Cebu City 11/07/11

Another food that is synonymous to Cebu is Danggit. The Cebu Danggit is perfect when sun dried before frying. The dried danggit is one of Cebu’s most popular pasalubong aside from the otap, rosquillos and dried mangoes. And one can  get the best Danggit in Cebu but in Tabo-an Market.   The Taboan Market in Cebu City is famous for its many stalls selling different varieties of dried fish and dried sea products. A walk through the market is an adventure for the smell senses.  The smell of the place is appalling because of the hills and crates of dried fish and dried seafood. Merchants wrapped danggit in a tightly sealed plastic to prevent the smell to stink. Expect that you will also smell like dried fish, so make sure you bring spare clothes.  But this experience will not prevent the Filipino and other tourist to buy this delectable products of Cebu. How do we get there. 1. From our hotel we just picked up a cab and ask him to go to Taboan Market. We paid 100

I ♥ Basdaku Beach, Moalboal Cebu 11/06/12

Moalboal, a three hours drive from Cebu City is a gateway to some of the best diving spots in Cebu. Moalboal, or "Mowlbowl" as I'd like to call it, is a municipality about 89 kilometers from Cebu City. It's on the southwestern tip of Cebu situated between the towns of Badian and Alcantara. Moalboal is the go-to place for divers from all over the world. It has two main beaches, Panagsama Beach (Basdiot) and White Beach (Basdako). Home to around 28,00 inhabitants, this provincial town is a well known tourist and diving paradise due to its unspoiled fine white sand beaches and diverse marine life. Divers and snorkelers will enjoy the rich and colorful underwater life of its numerous dive sites. You can rent a cottage for a day for a mere P150. There is grilled food and beverages along the public beach as well. There are a lot of restaurants and kitchenettes in the area, but prepare to shell out at least P100.00 per meal. Though there are a lot of

At top of the hill, is the50-foot image  of the Resurrected Christ. Kamay Ni Hesus Shrine is situated on the slopes of Mt. Banahaw, on Barangay Tinamnan, Lucban, Quezon  where a church is also located. The shrine is widely known to all catholic devotees and are visited during Holy Week and during pahiyas festival. It was a 292 steps to the top. On the way up, life-size statues depicting the 14 Stations of the Cross is displayed till you reach the summit and the 50-foot statue of the Ascending Christ —(the third biggest in the world). Noah's Ark-themed playground is also available in the area making it great for family trips. This park is conveniently situated at the back of the healing center and church. the Noah’s Ark which serves as a place of prayer and meditation. This house of prayer has fully furnished air conditioned rooms for pilgrims and those who are attending retreats. It was very tourist friendly to go to Kamay ni Hesus since we ar
