Embracing the Inner Child: A Day at Tokyo DisneySea

As I stood outside the gates of Tokyo DisneySea, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of skepticism. After all, I believed that I had outgrown amusement parks, associating them with children running around, babies crying, and couples indulging in childish activities. But little did I know that this day would challenge my preconceived notions and ignite a sense of wonder within me.

Our second day in Tokyo began with a complicated commute from our hotel. Despite the initial complexity, I found joy in the long journey, as I have always loved the experience of commuting. We boarded the train at Nippori Station and navigated the labyrinthine Tokyo Station, finally arriving at the Tokyo Disneyland station. The moment we stepped off the train, I was greeted by a vibrant crowd adorned in cosplays, costumes, and couples with their little ones. The expressive nature of the people heading to the amusement park instantly sparked excitement within me. I couldn't help but envy their ability to wear elaborate costumes, ball gowns, and anime cosplays, adding an extra layer of enchantment to the experience.
What sets DisneySea apart is its unique train system, which transports visitors to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. We embarked on the Disney train, and soon, we found ourselves at the spacious picnic area, centered around a magnificent globe. It was at that moment that I knew I was in the right place at the right time, ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure.
We began our DisneySea journey by exploring the souvenir shops, losing track of time as we immersed ourselves in the array of mugs and chocolates. After our shopping spree, we made our way to the entrance, where we were greeted by the majestic sight of a man-made volcano in the Mediterranean Harbor. To my surprise, the volcano erupted, spewing flames and emitting a roaring sound. It was a sight to behold, setting the tone for the magical day ahead.

We continued our exploration by boarding the Transit Liner, a relaxing ride that took us to the enchanting Mermaid Lagoon. Feeling hungry, we found a vacant seat near the Flounder's Fish Coaster and enjoyed the food we had bought from a convenience store. After a brief rest, we joined the fast-moving queue for the Flounder's Fish Coaster, a thrilling ride that lasted only a minute but filled us with joy.

Next, we ventured into Ariel's Playground, mesmerized by the vibrant colors and the ever-changing lights. Amidst the chaos, we found beauty in the multitude of rides and attractions. Moving on, we found ourselves in Mysterious Island, where we decided to have lunch at the Vulcanian Restaurant, serving delicious Chinese cuisine with the much-needed rice. The set menu was satisfying, both in taste and portion, and the prices were reasonable.

With our hunger satisfied, we refreshed ourselves and joined the queue for the most popular ride at DisneySea: Journey to the Center of the Earth. The wait was long, nearly an hour, but the anticipation grew as we meandered through the snake-like queue, passing familiar spots and engaging in playful banter. I even took the opportunity to create TikTok videos and indulge in light-hearted conversations to pass the time. Finally, when our turn arrived, I was left speechless by the exhilarating experience. Words cannot do justice to the sheer excitement and thrill of the ride. It is an experience that must be felt firsthand.

After the highlight of DisneySea's rides, we strolled along Port Discovery and discovered a secluded bench where we could rest our weary feet. I took off my shoes and let the cool breeze soothe my tired soles. A dear friend treated us to coffee and sandwiches, the perfect respite after hours of walking and queuing.

Feeling rejuvenated, we decided to visit the Lost River Delta. The picturesque view of a clear river, a majestic Inca pyramid, and lush man-made jungles transported us to another world. Thanks to our priority pass, we bypassed the incredibly long queue and went straight to the Indiana Jones: Adventure Temple of the Crystal Skull ride. While it offered a different experience from Journey to the Center of the Earth, it still provided a fun-filled adventure, albeit with a slightly different flavor.

As the evening approached, we made our way to Arabian Coast, immersing ourselves in the Middle Eastern ambiance and the theme of Aladdin. I couldn't resist the temptation to ride the carousel, indulging in a nostalgic moment reminiscent of my childhood. My inner child reveled in the joy and gratitude of reliving such a cherished memory.

Following our detour through Arabian Coast, we walked a short cut to get to American Waterfront coz we are craving for hotdogs. After checking every stall in American Waterfront I've realized that hotdog is not that popular in Tokyo but ironic that we are in American theme area. But luckily enough destiny really want us to have a great time that unknowingly we found a hotdog stand which is a few steps away from American Waterfront.

It was the perfect snack to eat while waiting for Believe! sea of dreams. (Check my believe! Sea of dream blog entry for details). After the show inside my head I thought that this was the perfect moment to end Disneysea. There is nothing to stop our growing up but it does not mean our inner child is ageless.
