Hapitanan: A Whimsical Whirlwind of Broomsticks and Mud
 
Siquijor, the island of enchantment, is a tapestry woven with natural beauty and quirky charm. While Cambugahay Falls stole our breath with its cascading grandeur, Hapitanan, a small tourist spot nestled amidst the island's magic, offered a different kind of adventure – one that tickled our funny bone and challenged our balance.
 
Imagine this: you're standing on a rickety platform, clutching a broom, attempting to strike a pose that would make even Harry Potter envious. The wind whips through your hair, the rain threatens to dampen your enthusiasm, and the surrounding laughter fuels your determination to capture the perfect "flying" shot. This, my friends, is the essence of Hapitanan.
 
The "flying on a broomstick" experience, a whimsical nod to the world of Hogwarts, is undoubtedly the star attraction. It's a testament to the island's ability to embrace the absurd and turn it into a delightful photo opportunity. However, the "buwis buhay" (life-risking) nature of this particular activity should be acknowledged. The platform, while sturdy enough, does have a certain "precariously balanced" vibe, and the mud-slicked steps leading to it are a testament to the island's unpredictable weather.
 
Beyond the broomstick spectacle, Hapitanan offers a few other photo-worthy spots, including the picturesque Crocodile Beach. The backdrop of the beach, with its golden sands and azure waters, provides a stunning contrast to the whimsical props, creating a unique blend of the mundane and the magical.
 
However, let's be honest, Hapitanan isn't exactly a bustling hub of activity. The charm lies in its simplicity, its ability to offer a fleeting moment of amusement amidst the island's natural wonders. It's a place where you can embrace the ridiculous, capture a few quirky photos, and move on.
 
While there's no entrance fee, the "donation" system can be a bit of a minefield. Signs warning against "cheap tippers" might make you feel like you're walking into a scene from a Monty Python sketch. The small cafe, offering refreshments and souvenirs, is best avoided if you're on a budget.
 
So, is Hapitanan a tourist trap? Perhaps. But it's a tourist trap with a heart, a place where you can indulge in a bit of lighthearted fun and capture memories that will make you chuckle long after you've left the island. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, the most memorable experiences are the ones that are a little bit silly, a little bit messy, and a whole lot of fun.

Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Baguio Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Baguio was the first tourist spot I visited in this humble city. I went there last 2008 with my college friends and I really enjoyed our short stay there. There is no restriction in visiting the area. However, due to its gaining popularity they implemented policies that may annoy some first time travelers.  All visitors entering PMA must have individual valid IDs. A person without a valid ID can't enter PMA. If you're in a group and you don't have ID, you will be instructed to get off the jeepney at the gate and wait for your companions with IDs while they're enjoying the tour. Also, wearing slippers is a big no-no when you wanted to enter its premises. Even though you are wearing your expensive flip-flops the security personnel won't show any mercy and you may be force to await your companion at the gate.   Batis Aramin Lucban Quezon Batis Aramin Resort, Hotel and Adventure Camp is just one of the few resorts near my hometown Tayabas, Quezon. We went there when we visited the well-known Catholic Pilgrimage site called “Kamay ni Hesus” which lies on the foot of Mt. Banahaw last 2011. You won't be lost to find the place because it is just on the other side of the popular retreat camp Kamay ni Hesus which is located in Malupak, Lucban Quezon. We don't have enough money to pay the 100 pesos entrance fee but because we wanted to explore the place we just made an alibi to the security personnel that we just wanted to do an ocular visit and see if we wanted to stay. The security personnel was very kind and he let the 5 of us enter the vicinity we just left our ID's for record updating.  There were a lot of guess that time.
