I ❤️ San Juan - Siquijor 2024 - Day 1 - 09/11/2024

Siquijor: Day 1 - Sunset, Inasal, and Unexpected Karaoke! 🎤🌅

Okay, so Siquijor, you're already winning me over. Day one was a total blast, and I'm not even exaggerating. Let me tell you all about it...

We finally arrived in Siquijor after a long journey, and I was SO ready to ditch the suitcase and explore. We checked into our hotel, and then it was time to hit the road! We decided to head straight for San Juan, the main tourist area, and hopped on a tricycle for a measly 200 pesos.

The ride was a total eye-opener. We cruised along the highway, passing by all these cool bars, restaurants, and hotels. It felt like every place had its own vibe, and I was already dreaming about trying them all. It was almost 5pm, and the sky was turning into a masterpiece. We stopped at a bar, grabbed some iced coffee, and just watched the sunset paint the sky in all these amazing colors. It was seriously beautiful.

With our caffeine fix in hand, we started walking along the highway, hungry for some delicious Siquijor grub. We wandered from bar to bar, checking out the menus, until we stumbled upon this little home restaurant. The smell of grilled chicken inasal was seriously tempting, so we decided to give it a shot.

And OMG, the food was SO good! But the best part? They had FREE karaoke! I couldn't resist belting out a few tunes while we waited for our dinner. Let's just say my singing skills were questionable, but it was so much fun!

After a seriously delicious and super affordable meal, we headed to the grocery store to stock up on water and some new flip-flops (because who needs fancy shoes when you're in paradise, right?). It was already 8pm, and since it was off-peak season, finding a tricycle back to the hotel was a bit of a challenge. Luckily, the restaurant owner was a total lifesaver. She called a driver for us, even though he was already asleep! He was so kind to take us back, and we were happy to pay him 500 pesos for going the extra mile.

Back at the hotel, we showered and crashed. Day one in Siquijor was a whirlwind of amazing food, stunning sunsets, and unexpected karaoke adventures. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
