Balabac 2024 Day 1: A Journey of Travels and Unexpected Adventures

Date: 04/12/2024

Greetings, fellow adventurers! Join me as I embark on an unforgettable journey to Balabac Palawan, a hidden gem in the Philippines. Day 1 of this exciting trip was filled with bus rides, delectable meals, unexpected power outages, and unforgettable experiences. Let's dive into the highlights of the day!

The day began with an early morning bus ride from Cavite to PITX (Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange). As the sun rose, the anticipation for the adventures ahead grew stronger. From PITX, I hopped onto an Angkas motorcycle ride that swiftly took me to NAIA 3 (Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3). The wind on my face and the bustling cityscape provided the perfect backdrop for the start of my journey. Red

Since I had some time before my flight, I decided to grab lunch at Wendy's within NAIA 3. I met my friends here with a delicious chicken meal in hand, I savored the flavors and soaked in the airport atmosphere. The excitement was building up as I prepared for my air transit from NAIA 3 to Puerto Princesa Airport (PP Terminal).

Upon arriving at the airport, our group hailed a taxi and headed towards Privado Hotel, my home in Puerto Princesa before this Balabac escapade. Check-in was a breeze, and after a long day of traveling, I found solace in the comfort of the hotel room. A much-needed rest recharged my energy for the adventures ahead.

As the day progressed, we explored the local culinary scene and made our way to Badjao Restaurant for an early dinner. The restaurant is aesthetically located near theangrove forest creating a dramatic backdrop. The aroma of freshly cooked seafood filled the air as I indulged in their specialties. I ordered beef steak but wasn't able to finish it due to thickness and chewness. The flavors is okay to my taste buds, leaving me not craving for more of its culinary delights.

Just when I thought the evening would wind down smoothly, fate had a different plan. The entire area experienced a power cut off from 4 PM to 10 PM. Although unexpected, this gave me a chance to embrace the local lifestyle and bond with the community. Joined by friends, locals and fellow travelers, I found myself in a spot called Tiki Bar Puerto Princesa. We shared stories, laughter, and drinks while waiting for the power to be restored.

Finally, at 10 PM, the power was restored, we continue to drink and absorb the chaotic scenes up us. We bid farewell to the Tiki Bar at 2am and returned to the hotel. The Puerto Princesa spirit continued to shine as I took a refreshing bath and slipped into a peaceful slumber, eagerly awaiting the adventures that awaited me on Day 2

Stay tuned for more updates as I explore the mesmerizing beauty of Balabac. Join me as we uncover hidden treasures, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable experiences in this tropical paradise.

Until then, dream of pristine beaches and prepare for the journey ahead!
