I ♥ Magellan Cross Cebu City 11/05/2011

Image
During my elementary days we always discuss the different tourist destination in the Philippines. One of which is the famous Magellan Cross in Cebu City. Magellan's Cross is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese, and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines on (depending on source) April 14 or 21, 1521. I was really fascinated about the history of the cross; how it became the symbol of the Spaniard to conquer the Philippines. Magellan's Cross is one of the most visited tourist attraction of Cebu City. During my first trip in Cebu I wasn't able to visit this popular destination because my friend said that it is just a cross in the middle of the park so we just headed to Bohol which another tourist spot in the Visayan Region. Fortunately, I was able to visit the beautiful city of Cebu again with my college friends. This time, Magellan's cross is included in our itinerary. We were a group of 12 people so we just commu

I ♥ Regal Business Park Cebu City 11/05/2011

We stayed in Regal Business Inn during my second trip in Cebu City. We were a group of 12 people so we booked 3 rooms. I had a very good impression when I saw the hotel.  It is located next to Ayala Center Cebu which is excellent. The hotel is very accessible especially if you are going to stay in Cebu for a long time.  I really like the attitude of their staffs they were very friendly and warm being. We were greeted by a very friendly security guy and the receptionists were all pleasant. The hotel, whilst not the newest and most modern is still clean and presentable enough. There were some things that needed improvement though like their elevator and smoking area but of course the room is the most important thing.   The rooms that were assigned to us had nice big windows. The rooms were very spacious with Cable T.V and hot/cold shower. The bed and sheets were clean and comfortable. However, the hotel is in the middle of the city so you’ll expect the noise outside from ongoing

I ♥ Casa Verde Cebu City 11/06/2011

Cebu is one of the best places to dine in the Philippines. It is a food lover’s haven of flavor. You won’t be surprised if Cebu City offers a variety of food, I bet that you are not a foodie lover if you haven’t heard the famous Lechon Cebu, Dangit or Dried Mangoes. The first trip that I had with Cebu was an eye opening experience. I’ve learned the different flavor Cebu can offer, one of which is a restaurant called Casa Verde.  A friend who frequently visits Cebu recommended this place. It is also popular among bloggers and you’ll hear a lot of good reviews online. Casa Verde has several branches. The main branch is at 69 Lim Tian Teng St., another branch is at The Walk at IT Park and the most accessible branch is at The Terraces at Ayala. We traveled using public transportation during our Cebu trip so we opted to visit their most accessible branch near our hotel which is in The Walk at I.T Park.   You won’t regret waiting for a couple of minutes to be seated because it’s all wort

I ♥ Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral 11/05/2011

The Cebuano's are known to be deeply religious people. The majority of its population are Roman Catholic and there are also some followers of Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and among others. If you are going to Cebu you might notice the different churches built within the city. One of which is Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, located along P. Zamora St., Cebu City, is just less than or the most is 5 minutes walk away from Basilica Minore del Santo Nino. It is the ecclesiastical seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Cebu. The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the oldest and notable churches in the city, is the seat of the Archdiocese of Cebu. The architecture of the church is typical of Spanish colonial churches in the country, namely, squat and with thick walls to withstand typhoons and other natural calamities. The facade features a trefoil-shaped pediment, which is decorated with carved relieves of floral motifs, an IHS inscription and a pair of gr

i ♥ AA BBQ Cebu City 11/05/2011

When you're in Cebu City, One should not miss this haven for barbecue lovers, the original AA BBQ. My first taste of Cebuano dishes happened in AA BBQ and I could say that although most of their dishes were grilled meat or seafood, the flavor of it is very distinct Cebuano.  The BBQ store was introduce to me by Patty who frequently visits Cebu because of her Job. From our hotel in I.T Park we rode a cab to get there.  AA BBQ is a popular place so you’ll never get lost. You will surely not miss the restaurant because the smell of grilled food will literally take you there. The place is not really fancy but seeing a lot of people eating in the restaurant will assured you that you’re in the right place.  When you’re going to dine in AA BBQ the first thing you need to do is to get a tray so you could put the variety of raw food that you choose in their counter. Once you get the food that you wanted, pay it over at the end of the line and then look for a table. A waiter will th
