Ocean Park Hong Kong

Ocean Park Hong Kong - located at Aberdeen, Hong Kong cannot be compared to Enchanted Kingdom in the Philippines because Ocean Park Hong Kong is much bigger and you won't finish visiting all the rides and amusement in one day. Plus, based on our experience, we end with a sore feet trekking the park.
Ocean Park is divided into two areas - The Waterfront and The Summit. Both these areas are separated by a mountain. To get from The Waterfront to The Summit and vice versa, there are two modes of transportation - either the cable car or the Ocean Express train.

First thing we visited was the Giant Aquarium, The Atoll Reef. It is a four-storey high aquarium holding more than 2,000 fish from 250 different species, including the Black Spotted Sting Ray, for which a second generation was successfully bred at Ocean Park. My eyes was filled with amazement while I walk towards the big caverns full with different species of aquatic animals.
Next stop was a visit to the famous giant pandas We went inside greenhouse-like panda-friendly area overlooking these animals. The purpose is to built habitat that houses rare giant pandas and red pandas. Its cold inside to keep the pandas close to their natural habitat. These pandas were cute but a bit confused. I guessed they are not comfortable with a people around them.

To get to the other side of the park we rode the 1.5-kilometer long cable car system connecting the lowland and the upland areas. It has a capacity of 4,000 passengers per hour with 252 cable cars on two pairs of ropeways. Each car has a capacity of six passengers. I'm not scared of heights and the view while riding the cable car was spectacular. The only time I got nervous was when the ride stop in the middle of the mountain thus we have a very great view of the Hong Kong Island.

The first ride I tried was the Hair-Raiser I got paranoid thinking that riding this will give me a heart attack. I didn't shout nor scared while riding this because I feel comfortable and secure. I just realized that the rides here in the Philippines is much scarier than the rides there because it's totally locked in place. I also tried riding the more extreme ride The Flash and the experience is like you're inside the washing machine. I still wanted to try the different rides in the area but due to time constraints we were limited to see only one show and 2 more rides.

The only show that we were able to watch was the "Sea Dreams!" at the Ocean Theatre. This is a world-class production featuring the Park’s marine animal stars in an inspirational story about the importance of marine conservation. It was entertaining to watch the trained dolphins and sea lions.

Ocean Park Hong Kong is a must visit place. I would definitely recommend this place for the active teens and for those who are young at heart. This place offers you fun and adventure like no other. You will be able to see amazing creatures of deep sea and also gives you the feeling of visiting the north and south poles of earth. The thrilling cable car ride that will surely excite your senses especially then it goes up there to the High Land . If you are an animal lover, this is also a good place to get to meet fantastic animals, enjoy the dolphin show and meet the seals. You can get the feeling of scuba diving minus getting wet and oxygen apparatus. The dolphin and sea lions shows present here are really amazing, the dolphin show is very cute and awesome.
How to go to Ocean Park Hong Kong from Mong Kok MTR Station

Ocean Park offers a variety of activities for children which may take a whole day to finish. From the Mong Kok station of the MTR, take train ( going to central) and get off at Admiralty station. Exit at Exit B, and then take Bus 629 which stops at Ocean Park.

Before riding the bus to Ocean Park, you may already purchase tickets, which includes the entrance fee and round trip fare to and from Ocean Park. The average cost per person is around HK$ 225.

To return to Mong Kok MTR, take the 629 bus again using your round trip ticket. The bus stops at Admiralty station where you get off then take the Tsuen Wan line of the MTR and get off at Mong Kok station.
From Mongkok, take the MTR to Admiralty. Go to exit B, then take bus no.629 which goes directly to Ocean Park.

From Ocean Park, you will need to take the bus back to Admiralty, then take the peak tram or bus no.15 to the Peak. The peak tram is up on Garden Road, about 15 minutes walk from Admiralty. The bus stop for no.15 is on Queensway, just outside the MTR station.

You're right saying that bus stops are scattered all around the streets. The easiest place to find bus no.6 is at the Exchange Square bus terminal. Take exit A from Central station, and you will see it as you walk across the footbridge.

For the octopus, you can put $200 on it initially. It's easy to top up, just go to any MTR station or 7-11
